School Policies
ONTARIO REGISTERED TEACHERS MUSIC STUDIO POLICY
- Lessons will be paid for, in advance by the month or term.
- One month's notice must be given prior to termination of lessons
- No allowance will be made for lessons missed by students, (except by special arrangement in cases of prolonged serious illness).
- In the event of the teacher's absence, adjustment will be made.
- Time lost because of a student's lateness cannot be made up.
- The student must not enter into examinations, performances or auditions without the prior knowledge and approval of the teacher.
Additional Interpretation of the Toronto School for Strings
- Adjustments may be made due to religious observances, or for compassionate reasons.
- Please feel free to exchange lesson times with other students, and let us know.
- Payments made by installment must be in the form of post-dated cheques or VISA/MC using our special pre-authorization form for a set number of payments.
Music Lessons During School Hours
"A child is excused from attendance at school if,
- the child is absent from school for the purpose of receiving instruction in music and the period of absence does not exceed one-half day in any week" - Ontario Education Act, R.S.O. 1990, CHAPTER E.2, Part II, ss.21(2)(e)
